COMMERCE, Ga. (AP) — Antron Brown raced to the Top Fuel qualifying lead Friday in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals.

Brown had a 3.758-second pass at 319.82 mph at Atlanta Dragway.

"It was a great day," said Brown, a three-time winner in Atlanta. "For us to come out of the box with a really good, solid lap, we've been shooting for that for a long time. We all know that we have our bumps and bruises with our new combination and we just have to work the kinks out of it.

"We've raced well at a lot of the races this year, that's why we've been doing so well in the points, but we haven't been where we want to be in qualifying."

Cruz Pedregon topped the Funny Car field, Jason Line was the fastest in Pro Stock, and Karen Stoffer led the Pro Stock Motorcycle field.

Pedregon had a 4.010 at 313.95 in his Toyota Camry, Line ran a 6.546 at 211.06 in a Chevy Camaro, and Stoffer had a 6.889 at 195.00 on a Suzuki.
