SALT LAKE CITY — Police officers do much to keep the public safe, but they aren't always thanked for their efforts.
The week of May 15 was designated as Police Week by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. In honor of the occasion, we compiled a gallery of historic photos showing police at work in Utah.
Those who want to learn more about the history of police in Utah can visit the museum inside the Salt Lake City Public Safety Building, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. It is located at 475 S. 300 East.
