LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jeb Bush says a record like his leading the state of Florida from 1998 to 2007 is the kind of record necessary to win the White House. But in the same speech last night at the Clark County Republican Party's annual fundraiser in Las Vegas he repeated he is not yet a candidate for president but is instead excited about exploring the possibility.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Jeb Bush is parting ways with one declared Republican presidential candidate regarding Yucca Mountain. The ex-Florida governor told reporters after a Reno town hall meeting yesterday he believes a nuclear waste repository should be built only where the state and local communities have reached a consensus. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio last weekend said it should go forward unless someone has a better idea.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Legislature has passed an anti-bullying measure supported by Gov. Brian Sandoval despite some Republican concerns that it was rushed. Assembly members voted 36-6 yesterday to approve SB 504. The measure now heads to Sandoval's desk. The bill revises the definition of bullying. It would also strengthen reporting requirements for bullying incidents.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The mayor of North Las Vegas says a police report about his request to remove what he thought were images of child pornography from his tablet computer will prove he did nothing wrong. Mayor John Lee told The Associated Press yesterday that he denies any impropriety. Lee had told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the images began popping up after someone sent him an email.
