OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Two doctors will discuss thyroid diseases at the Omaha Science Café.

The two experts are University of Nebraska Medical Center endocrinologist Whitney Goldner and head and neck surgical oncologist Russell Smith.

An ultrasound machine will be used to project views of thyroid glands onto a screen.

The event is scheduled to begin 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St. in Omaha.

Science Cafes are free educational events sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase people's science literacy. They are open to everyone 21 and older. Go to www.unmc.edu/sciencecafe for more information about Science Cafes.
