GRANTSVILLE — Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of an unidentified man found Saturday evening by campers near Granstville Reservoir.

Tooele County Sheriff's Lt. Travis Scharmann said the campers stopped to help when they found a vehicle that appeared to be stuck in the mud. They spotted the man's body and called police.

Another person was seen leaving the area shortly before the man's body was found, Scharmann said. Investigators are calling the death "suspicious."

"We had (law enforcement) units in the area looking for the subject possibly walking, but nobody was ever located," the lieutenant said.

Investigators were working Saturday night to identify the deceased man, who Scharmann said appeared to be in is 50s.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tooele County Sheriff's Office dispatch center at (435) 833-8300.
