COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio woman who fell off an operating table during surgery will get $50,000 in a settlement with the hospital.

Barbara Phillips of Dayton was undergoing spinal surgery when she fell off the table at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in May 2014. She was under anesthesia.

Her complaint says that she had to have emergency craniotomy surgery after hitting her head and that she will suffer disabilities, pain and discomfort for the rest of her life.

Under the Ohio Court of Claims settlement approved Monday, she won't file more claims against the hospital. The hospital doesn't admit liability in the settlement.

The Columbus-based court handles claims against the state, including its universities.
