VOLNEY, N.Y. (AP) — A 50-year-old family medical doctor with a practice in central New York is accused of raping one of his patients during an office visit earlier this year.
State police say Dilip K. Roy of Baldwinsville was arraigned Tuesday in Volney Town Court on third-degree rape charges and released on his own recognizance. He's scheduled to appear in court again on June 1.
State police say they began investigating a month ago after a 25-year-old patient of Roy reported to troopers in Fulton that she was subjected to unwanted intercourse during a March office visit.
State police say the incident occurred at Roy's family medical practice, FastCare Family Medical, in the Town of Volney.
It could not be immediately determined if Roy has an attorney.
