FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have chosen Eastern Washington offensive lineman Jake Rodgers in the seventh round of the NFL draft.
Rodgers joins running back Tevin Coleman, a second-round pick from Indiana, and receiver Justin Hardy, a fourth-rounder from East Carolina, as the newest additions to the offensive depth chart.
The strongest competition on Atlanta's line is likely to be at left guard, a position Justin Blalock manned for the last eight years, and at right tackle, which currently has Ryan Schraeder listed as starter.
Rodgers signed with Washington State as a tight end and started all 12 games for the Cougars on the offensive line before transferring in 2013 to Eastern Washington.
