WEST JORDAN — Police arrested two people after a series of wild chases in West Jordan early Wednesday morning.

A woman called 911 around 12:30 a.m. to report two people in her yard near 5000 West and 8300 South, according to Officer Adam Horman of the West Jordan Police Department.

When officers arrived, two men fled on foot. Minutes later police spotted them in a white truck in a nearby church parking lot, Horman said. A chase ensued, but was called off when a trailer on the truck broke free.

Minutes later police spotted the truck again. Officers pursued the truck again, but that chase was called off, too. Then, police found the truck ditched in a nearby cul-de-sac.

Minutes later, a police dog tracked the two men back to the church parking lot and found them hiding in the bushes, Horman said.

Police arrested 43-year-old Anthony Hoskins and 23-year-old Shad Tracy. Investigators believe they were prowling the neighborhood. Horman said police found burglary tools and stolen property in their truck.
