Lance Bandley reportingPolice caught a serial car burglar in a department store as he tried to change his appearance and hide from officers.
The car burglar broke into a Utah Highway Patrol Car at an apartment complex Monday. Since Joshua Beebe was successful the first time, he went back again.
Detective Joe Seir, Utah Highway Patrol: "One of our sergeants even spotted him fleeing in a stolen vehicle, lost him momentarily, caught up with him again in one of the local department stores and found him changing his clothing in the department store."
Det. Seir says Beebe was trying to change his appearance in order to evade police. Ultimately he went to jail for two counts of aggravated burglary because he had a weapon when he challenged and threatened some people that were trying to stop him from doing that burglary.
Beebe also faces charges of fleeing with a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
