(KSL News) -- Hill Air Force Base today had more to say about an incident we first reported Monday night.
Security officers then closed Hill's South Gate for a time because four military members brought to the base a suspicious device that looked like a pipe bomb.
The Air Force says the group was throwing fireworks from their moving car while outside the base. Security stopped the car near the South Gate and found a pipe with sparkler fireworks stuffed into a device with a fuse and end caps.
No one was hurt.
Adminstrators say they could punish those responsible.
