WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. and Cuba still have their differences -- and the White House says taking Cuba off the list of state sponsors of terrorism doesn't change that. But a spokesman says those differences aren't relevant to the decision over whether to remove Cuba off the terrorism list. The announcement that Cuba will no longer be on that list is a key step in President Barack Obama's effort to normalize relations with Cuba. The announcement comes days after Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro met on the sidelines of a regional summit in Panama.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. In a statement released by his attorney, Pierre Fulton says, "I'll never know why he ran, but I know he didn't deserve to die." Fulton was in the car with Scott when he was pulled over. Police officer Michael Slager is facing a murder charge.

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks have finished mostly higher, led by gains in energy companies as the price of oil recovers. The market moved between small gains and losses in the morning, then headed gradually higher in the afternoon. The Dow rose 59 points. The S&P gained three, but the Nasdaq fell 10 points. The price of oil rose on indications that U.S. oil production is beginning to slip.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — SpaceX has launched a shipment of groceries to the International Space Station, including the first espresso maker bound for orbit. The unmanned rocket blasted off this afternoon from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Dragon, the SpaceX supply ship, holds more than 4,000 pounds of food, experiments and equipment for the six station astronauts. The delivery should arrive Friday.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — He only had one major hit -- but it's a song that continues to touch listeners nearly 50 years later. Percy Sledge, who gained fame with "When a Man Loves a Woman," has died in Louisiana at the age of 74. His family says he died at his home after a year-long struggle with cancer. The song became a staple on TV and in movies including "Platoon" and "The Big Chill."
