PARK CITY — Guests have been told it's safe to reoccupy their hotel after a bomb threat was made Sunday between 6 and 7 p.m. at the Treasure Mountain Inn in Park City, Utah.
An individual phoned police and told them that if his demands were not met, he would activate the bomb. The Salt Lake Police Department had a bomb sniffing K9 on site to conduct a sweep at the hotel.
The Treasure Mountain Inn was subsequently reopened after the bomb sniffing dog cleared the building.
One room has been blocked off inside of the hotel and is still under investigation. Authorities are waiting to obtain a warrant in order to further search the room. The threat of a bomb, however, has been eliminated.
The entire hotel in addition to 45 homes and businesses in the vicinity were evacuated while police searched the premises.
Summit County Sheriff, Summit County SWAT, Park City Fire and Unified Fire all provided support alongside the Park City Police.
Park Avenue, Main Street, and Swede Alley were are all closed between 4th Street and the top of Main Street. Those streets have now been reopened.
