Cleon Wall reportingHe won a national championship while playing football at BYU. Now, a former Cougar punt returner is hoping to be a champion of sorts in the boxing ring against a baseball player.

Vai Sikahema will receive $5,000 for the fight and says he will donate it to a widow of a Philadelphia police officer killed in the line of duty.

Sikahema was known to punch goal posts when playing for the Eagles, and even got into the ring earlier this year with a Philly radio jock. But Jose Canseco is a much taller man with a longer reach.

LA Boxing's Josh Swallow says Sikahema should stay in good shape. "It's extremely exhausting to go one round full out fighting. And even if he's more skillful than you, you can still beat him in the first round if he's not in good shape," he said.

Swallow says Sikahema should also focus on the body and not go for his head. He believes the former punt returner has a chance. "I'm a little bit of a fan of BYU football, so I think I'll kinda root for him a little bit," Swallow said.

The bout is scheduled for July.
