A district spokeswoman says the bill has unanswered fiscal and legal questions.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A group of Nevada Republicans including the state controller are introducing an alternative two-year budget that doesn't raise taxes. Newly-elected Controller Ron Knecht said the budget relies on mining taxes and public pension payments and would fund a majority of Gov. Brian Sandoval's proposed K-12 education programs.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Lawmakers are reviewing four Democrat-sponsored bills that would make voting easier and add more opportunities to register to vote on Election Day. One bill would allow people to vote at any polling place in their home county on Election Day rather than just their designated polling place. It also calls for the Secretary of State to create a mobile app that could be used to register to vote.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former NASCAR driver who authorities say led police on a 150-mph chase through three states has been sentenced to 90 days in a Utah jail.
