SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old Syracuse boy will need reconstructive facial surgery after his mother intentionally rammed her minivan into her ex-boyfriend's car.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (http://bit.ly/1x8GlSg ) that court documents say the younger of Lasaintee Williams' two sons suffered serious injuries when her van hit a curb, sheared off a utility pole and rolled over several times.

Police say the crash happened after the 25-year-old rammed her van into the back of her ex-boyfriend's moving car multiple times Wednesday in Syracuse. Her 6-year-old son was also in the van and was taken to a hospital, but details of his injuries haven't been released.

The man wasn't injured.

Williams was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was being held Friday in a Syracuse jail on $25,000 bail. Information on her lawyer wasn't available.
