HURRICANE — A La Verkin man, who was recently arrested in connection with a pharmacy robbery, was charged Wednesday with allegedly robbing the same store a year earlier.
The Hurricane Family Pharmacy was robbed March 11 around 11:30 a.m., according to Hurricane police. A man, later identified as Jonathan S. Forest, 37, of La Verkin, entered the pharmacy and made demands for a prescription medication while displaying an airsoft gun, police said.
After Forest left the pharmacy, a witness to the robbery followed his vehicle and called 911, police said. Officers located Forest within 6 minutes of the robbery and arrested him without incident near the pharmacy. He was found in possession of prescription medications and the black airsoft gun, police said.
Forest was booked into the Washington County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
Officers gathered information and evidence linking Forest to another robbery of the Hurricane Family Pharmacy on March 31, 2014, police said. Detectives obtained a search warrant and located prescription bottles, clothing and other items “consistent with the first robbery,” police said.
Wednesday, Forest was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and nine counts of possession of a controlled substance in connection to the 2014 pharmacy robbery.
