HURRICANE — A man was arrested Wednesday after he robbed a Hurricane pharmacy while displaying an airsoft gun, police said.
The armed robbery occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the Hurricane Family Pharmacy, according to Hurricane police. A man, later identified as 37-year-old Jonathan S. Forest of La Verkin, entered the pharmacy and made demands for a prescription medication while displaying an airsoft gun, police said.
Police said the red safety tip of the gun had been removed and it looked like a real firearm.
After Forest left the pharmacy, a witness to the robbery followed his vehicle and called police, police said. Officers located Forest within 6 minutes of the robbery and arrested him without incident near the pharmacy. He was found in possession of prescription medications and the black airsoft gun, police said.
Forest was booked into the Washington County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
