STOCKHOLM (AP) — Swedish authorities say a gunman opened fire inside a restaurant near the city of Goteborg late Wednesday and at least two of the wounded have died. A government spokeswoman said it is too early to speculate on the motive but said there were indications that the shooting was gang-related.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — An ex-convict with an extensive criminal record is suspected of being the gunman who killed one person and wounded five others Wednesday in Mesa, Arizona. Police in the Phoenix suburb says the rampage began with a dispute at a motel. When it was over there was a home invasion and a carjacking.

TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Tunisia's largest museum is the scene of a bloodbath in the capital of the North African democracy and popular tourist stop. Officials say at least 19 people were killed and more than 40. Most of the victims were foreign tourists. The attackers wore military-style uniforms and were armed with assault rifles. Two of them were killed. The attack follows an increase in counterterrorism efforts in Tunisia.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says President Barack Obama still believes in Palestinian statehood — even if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu no longer does. It's been a cornerstone of U.S. Mideast policy for years. But now that Netanyahu says he opposes the creation of a separate Palestinian state, White House spokesman Josh Earnest says the U.S. will have to re-evaluate the best way to bring about a two-state resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — About 1,000 students have gathered at the University of Virginia campus to demand justice for a student who was injured during an arrest and appears in a photo with a bloody face as he is being held down by an officer. The Alcoholic Beverage Control agent who made the arrest said the student was "was very agitated and belligerent." A group calling itself "Concerned Black Students" says the arrest was unprovoked and extreme.
