DENVER (AP) — A person with knowledge of the hiring tells The Associated Press that Colorado State University will hire Texas Tech deputy athletic director Joe Parker as its next athletic director.

The person spoke with The AP on condition of anonymity because the school isn't commenting before a Tuesday news conference to introduce the new athletic director.

The selection of Parker was first reported by The Coloradoan newspaper in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Parker will replace Jack Graham, who was fired in August by Colorado State University President Tony Frank.

John Morris has been serving as interim athletic director, but withdrew his name from consideration for the permanent job last month when he took the athletic director's job at Tufts University, a Division III school in Massachusetts.
