OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — The man who drove a commercial pickup truck that caused today's commuter train crash and derailment in California has been arrested. Police in Oxnard say the driver faces a suspicion of felony hit-and-run charge. Authorities say he abandoned the truck after it became stuck on train tracks. Three of the train's five cars detailed, injuring 28 people, four critically.

MIAMI (AP) — Federal prosecutors won't be bringing any charges in the Florida fatal shooting that sparked national debate on race and self-defense laws. The Justice Department says George Zimmerman won't face charges for the killing of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was cleared by a state jury. The federal probe focused on whether he could be charged with a federal hate crime and whether he willfully deprived Martin of his civil rights.

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (AP) — A jury in Stephenville (STEE'-ven-vil), Texas, has started deciding the fate of a former Marine in the fatal shooting of "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle and a friend of Kyle's. In closing arguments, the defense contended that Eddie Ray Routh (rowth) was not legally sane at the time of the shooting. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Not wanting Republicans to be blamed for a partial-shutdown on Friday of the Homeland Security Department, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says there could be a vote quickly on funding. McConnell has offered to allow a vote on a bill stripped of provisions that would reverse the president's executive actions on immigration. It's unclear if House conservatives would go along.

BOSTON (AP) — Bill Cosby's lawyers plan to ask a federal judge in Springfield, Massachusetts, to throw out a defamation lawsuit filed by three women accusing the comic of decades-old sexual offenses. The lawsuit contends that Cosby publicly branded them as liars through statements by his representatives. The motion to dismiss will be filed tomorrow.
