NEW YORK (AP) — The frantic play "39 Steps," a cheeky stage spoof of Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 spy thriller with just four actors, is returning to New York with a familiar face.

Producer Douglas Denoff said Tuesday that original Broadway cast member Arnie Burton will reprise his multiple roles, alongside Billy Carter, Robert Petkoff and Brittany Vicars.

The show was written by Patrick Barlow, who expanded on the original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon. It was a success in London before coming to New York in 2008, running over three years.

The production will feature the entire original creative team. It begins an open-ended run at the Union Square Theatre on April Fools' Day.

Burton's stage credits include "Machinal," ''Peter and the Starcatcher" and "A Free Man of Color."
