OREM, Utah (AP) -- Students at Utah Valley State College will be able to use their campus ID card as a debit card.
The only catch: They must have an account at Utah Community Credit Union. The school says 20 percent of students already do their banking there.
The card will become available after July 1 when Utah Valley State becomes Utah Valley University.
The card can be used as a bus pass, Visa debit card and library card. It's not a credit card.
Mike Jones, a senior accountant at UVSC, says officials want Orem businesses to embrace the card -- and students.
