FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — The murder trial of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was postponed Monday with weather forecasters predicting a major snowstorm for the region.

Monday's postponement is the trial's latest delay due to winter weather.

The trial is to resume Tuesday. Hernandez is charged in the shooting death of friend Odin Lloyd. He maintains his innocence.

Jurors, the judge and lawyers in the case spent Friday traveling by bus with a heavy police escort to sites that also included the street where Lloyd lived and cellphone towers that transmitted data investigators say tie Hernandez to the crime. The defense tried to undermine police handling of the evidence and the investigation in general.
