(KSL News) -- Animal control officers in South Salt Lake are warning pet owners NOT to leave their pets in hot cars.
Today alone, officers have responded to two calls of dogs left in hot cars. In both cases the owners of the dogs were cited for animal cruelty, and one of the dogs was taken into custody due to his condition.
Officers say pet owners should remember animals overheat quickly, so even the shortest period in a hot car can cause heath problems or death.
