ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) — Alfonzo McKinnie scored 23 points, Carrington Love added 19, and Green Bay jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead and held on to beat Milwaukee 81-70 on Thursday night.
The Phoenix are now in a three-way tie with Valparaiso and Cleveland State for first place in the Horizon League.
Green Bay (19-5, 8-2) led 42-20 at intermission, its largest halftime lead of the season, after holding Milwaukee to just six points in the first 13 minutes of the contest.
The Panthers (9-15, 4-6) rallied back in the second with a 20-5 run to trail by 10 with 2:30 remaining. Green Bay shot 4 of 5 in the final 2:19 to stay ahead.
McKinnie finished with 10 rebounds and shot 9 of 13 from the floor. Love was 7 of 9 overall and had five assists.
Matt Tiby scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Milwaukee.
