LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Utah congressman is reviving an effort to ban online gambling in the United States. Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz (CHAY'-fits) reintroduced his Restoration of America's Wire Act bill which would reverse the Justice Department's 2011 decision allowing online gambling with the exception of sports betting.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Supporters of a Mormon podcaster facing excommunication from the faith are planning to hold a vigil outside a disciplinary hearing scheduled for Sunday. John Dehlin said this week that his supporters plan to gather at the North Logan Stake Center at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Dehlin runs the podcast Mormon Stories and a website under the same name that provides a forum for church members questioning their faith.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A new Associated Press-GfK poll finds that Americans are slightly more likely to favor than oppose allowing gay and lesbian couples to legally marry. But the survey also found that most believe wedding-related businesses should be allowed to deny service to same-sex couples for religious reasons.
