Worner named editor of The Galveston County Daily News

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — The Galveston County Daily News is getting a new editor.

Kimberly Worner begins her duties March 9.

The Daily News (http://bit.ly/1KrfMbF ) announced the hiring Wednesday. Worner replaces recently retired editor Heber (HEE'-ber) Taylor.

Worner has worked for newspapers in Kansas and Utah. She worked for the Alabama Media Group in Birmingham, Alabama, as publications production manager. Worner also formerly worked for the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

Worner and her husband, Tom, plan to live in the Galveston area.
