NEW YORK (AP) — Marcus Burton scored 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting and Sacred Heart used a strong second half to beat Wagner 75-64 on Thursday night.
Trailing 33-30 at the break, Wagner opened the second half on a 26-12 run, capped by Burton's 10 straight points to take a 51-45 lead with 11:51 to play. Steve Glowiak scored four points to pull Sacred Heart within 56-54, but the Pioneers would not get closer.
Burton made 4 of 7 from long range, Corey Henson scored 12 points and JoJo Cooper added 10 points for Wagner (7-13, 5-4 Northeast Conference), which has three of its past four games and are in a three-way tie for third place in the conference.
Cane Broome scored 12 points, Evan Kelley had 11 and Glowiak 10 for Sacred Heart (9-13, 3-6).
