PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — Two events are scheduled in the Detroit area to encourage young adults to sign up for coverage under the federal health care law before the Feb. 15 deadline.
Get Covered America, local leaders, nonprofits and businesses will hold enrollment programs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Pontiac Marriott Hotel in Pontiac and from noon to 5 p.m. at the Detroit Public Library's downtown branch.
The Detroit event seeks to enroll musicians and artists, but is open to the public. The Pontiac event is part of a job fair.
Nationally, about 9.5 million people have already signed up for 2015 coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
Get Covered America is focused on educating consumers about the benefits of coverage and available health care options.
