CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is set to visit a Carson City elementary school today to announce a plan to expand the school breakfast program. The Republican governor first announced in his State of the State address that he would propose creating a $2 million program designed to expand school breakfasts throughout Nevada.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada Highway Patrol investigators have determined that 26-year-old New Jersey man killed in a fiery crash in the desert outside Las Vegas died of injuries from the wreck. The finding made public yesterday came more than a month after the late Dec. 19 crash involving the driver, Edwin Gichuki of Linden, New Jersey.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Police say the man injured in a fight after a Lil Jon concert at a Reno nightclub has died. Officer Tim Broadway said yesterday that 21-year-old Reno resident Jesus Castillo was taken off life support and succumbed to his injuries.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The U.S. Department of Labor says a Las Vegas limousine company is being ordered to pay more than $232,000 to 479 employees who it says were paid less than minimum wage. Attorney James Jimmerson, a business co-owner, says the company didn't deliberately withhold payments from employees.
