(KSL News) Opponents and advocates of marriage of same-sex couples say a new California Supreme Court ruling galvanizes their movements. The state's high court overturned a ban on gay marriages yesterday.

Same-sex marriage became a national issue during the presidential election in 2004. Will yesterday's development in California set up a similar scenario this year?
