(KSL News) A climber fell to his death tonight in a canyon east of Sandy.
It happened in Ferguson Canyon, which is the canyon just south of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The climber fell about 30 feet and landed on his head in a small stream of water.
When search and rescue teams got to the man, he was still alive, but with severe head injuries. He died before they were able to get him out of the canyon.
Investigators haven't released his name yet, but family members were on the scene.
