OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Power is back on in Ogden after a brief outage caused by a fire in the foothills last night.
Utah Power says the system was already on a backup when there was a problem around four o'clock this afternoon. The problem wasn't believed to be related to the fire, but it knocked out the backup system and 55-thousand customers lost service.
Crews had restored the electricity within an hour.
The system was operating on the backup because of last night's fire, which caused two neighborhoods to be evacuated and burned about 100 acres. No homes were damaged.
Two major wildfires in southwestern Utah continue to burn and have already covered about 50-thousand acres. And a new fire in Tooele County has burned about 350 acres.
