PANGKALAN BUN, Indonesia (AP) — The weather may have been a factor in Sunday's crash of AirAsia Flight 8501. Now it's impeding efforts by helicopters to look for additional victims and debris in Indonesia's Java Sea. Wednesday's search included divers and vessels, but heavy rain and clouds grounded helicopters. Heavy surf is also hampering recovery efforts. There were 162 people aboard.

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (AP) — A police chief in suburban Philadelphia says five of his officers did what they had to do in killing a man who allegedly posted online threats against law enforcement and attempted to run down officers attempting an arrest. Police in Upper Darby haven't said if the man had a weapon. He also hasn't been identified.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Police in Edmonton, Alberta, say a domestic dispute is the apparent motive for a murder-suicide that has left seven adults and two children dead at three crime scenes. Eight of the deaths were discovered yesterday. The body of a man reported to be depressed and suicidal was found today at a suburban restaurant.

HAYDEN, Idaho (AP) — She's being described as a loving mother lost too soon. Officials in Hayden, Idaho, say a 2-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his mother at a Wal-Mart store. The boy had been sitting in a shopping cart and reached into her purse and grabbed her handgun. Veronica Rutledge, who was 29, had a concealed weapons permit.

CHICAGO (AP) — These cars have severe salt damage and it happened in seconds. A wall at a Morton Salt storage facility in Chicago collapsed today, burying several cars at a next door auto dealership in road salt. There were no injuries.
