OREM, Utah (AP) — Dylan Garrity scored a career-high 28 points to help Sacramento State beat Utah Valley State 74-49 on Saturday night.

Garrity made 8 of 9 field goals, including 6 of 7 from 3-point range, and 6 of 6 free throws. Mikh McKinney added 13 points and eight assists for Sacramento State (6-5), which also beat Utah Valley State 65-56 on Dec. 1.

Zach Nelson's layup with 17:34 to play pulled Utah Valley State (4-8) within two, but the Hornets used a 15-2 run to make it 53-38 about 7 minutes later. The Wolverines trailed by at least 12 the rest of the way.

Chad Ross scored 10 for Utah Valley State, which trailed 38-32 at halftime but made just 5 of 25 field goals and missed all 14 of its 3-point shots in the second half.

Sacramento State shot 56 percent overall and 59 percent (10 of 17) from 3-point range.
