Green Bay surges late, beats Georgia State 78-61

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Carrington Love poured in a career-high 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting and Green Bay used a late surge to pull away from Georgia State 78-61 on Saturday.

After surrendering a quick 7-0 run and losing the lead, the Phoenix (10-3) stormed away, closing the game on 21-3 surge. Jordan Fouse hit a 3-pointer to grab the lead and Daeshon Francis converted two three-point plays to spark the run.

Georgia State (7-4), which had led by as much as 11 in the first half, managed just one field goal in the final five minutes and turned it over twice.

Green Bay shot 53.8 percent from the field and Love hit four of the teams' seven 3-pointers. Fouse chipped in 14 points with seven assists, five rebounds and four steals. Keifer Sykes had 13 points with six assists and Alfonzo McKinnie added 11 points.

R.J. Hunter paced the Panthers with 19 points.
