LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada and the federal government are agreeing to have a panel keep studying whether the U.S. will bury radioactive material from Tennessee at a former nuclear weapons proving ground north of Las Vegas. Gov. Brian Sandoval and Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz announced today that more than a year of negotiations have yielded a signed agreement for what they're calling senior-level talks. Officials say there is no deal yet.

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A former NASCAR driver who led police on a 150 mph chase through Nevada, Arizona and Utah last year has agreed to a plea deal. The Spectrum reports 35-year-old Timothy Tyler Andrew Walker of California pleaded guilty today in a Utah court to felony counts of failure to stop for an officer and possession of a controlled substance. He also pleaded guilty to impaired driving.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada fire official says a landscaper was high up in a palm tree when he lost consciousness and eventually died after being trapped by cut fronds. North Las Vegas Fire Capt. Cedric Williams says a high-angle team removed the man's body from the 25- to 30-foot tree yesterday evening.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Secret Witness is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Reno on North Virginia Street. Police say both drivers who struck him stopped, but one left the scene. Police have been unable to find that vehicle.
