BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Scientists say a hidden killer -- lead poisoning -- threatens the 60 or so condors soaring over the Grand Canyon and southern Utah.

The problem will be discussed at a scientific conference that starts tomorrow at Boise State University. Other forms of lead poisoning are on the agenda.

North Dakota and Minnesota have ordered food banks to stop offering venison donated by hunters.

The problem: many high-velocity bullets contain lead, which can poison the meat.

Scientists will discuss lead poisoning among subsistence hunting Inuits in Alaska and Russia. They also will learn about lead levels in ravens at Yellowstone National Park.
