Campbell too much for NAIA Montreat 90-64

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — D.J. Mason had 12 points and 13 rebounds and Nehemiah Mabson scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half in Campbell's 90-64 win over NAIA Montreat on Saturday.

Campbell (5-6) took control midway through the first half with a 22-5 run and scored 10 straight to close out the period with a 44-23 lead. During a two-minute stretch in the second half, Mabson had two three-point plays and a 3-pointer.

Andrew Ryan added 14 points and Curtis Phillips 13 for the Camels, who led by as many as 35 and no less than 20 in the second half. Campbell outrebounded the Cavaliers 41-26.

Joshua Foster and Will Lewis each made three 3-pointers for Montreat. Foster lead the Cavaliers with 15 points, Ryan Bethoney scored 13, Lewis 11, and Demontre Jones 10.

Montreat shot well overall but had less attempts because of only three offensive rebounds and 16 turnovers.
