LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada lawmaker Michele Fiore has once again been removed from leadership positions in the Republican Assembly Caucus. Fiore came under fire last week after political reporter Jon Ralston reported that more than $1 million in liens had been filed against her in the past decade.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada officials say initial claims for unemployment insurance climbed in November likely because of seasonal and short-term jobs ending. Officials with the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation say more than 16,000 claims were filed in November. That's up from about 14,000 claims in October. State officials say initial claims tend to rise in the fall and winter.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Cosmopolitan hotel and casino will have a new owner as state regulators cleared the way for Deutsche Bank AG to sell the Las Vegas Strip resort to a division of the Blackstone Group for $1.73 billion. The Nevada Gaming Commission voted unanimously to approve transferring gambling licenses after hearing from Blackstone executives. Those executives say they expect the deal to close tomorrow.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Federal safety regulators say pilot error was responsible for a midair collision between two jets practicing for the National Championship Air Races in Reno last year. The National Transportation Safety Board says the probable cause of the accident between two Czech-built military training jets was the failure of one pilot to see the other plane.
