SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say a 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shooting his female roommate in the head as she ran out of their Sandy home Thursday.
Authorities say Larry Kent Graff chased 26-year-old Candice Melo (MELL-ow) and her male friend out of the house after an argument about 7 a.m.
Sandy police Sgt. Dean Carriger says Melo was hit three times and died of her wounds about nine hours later. Her friend wasn't hurt.
Police say Graff was arrested at the scene and acknowledged firing the weapon intentionally.
No attorney was listed for Graff in court records Thursday, and a message left at phone number listed for him was not immediately returned.
