LAS VEGAS (AP) — Cody Doolin's driving layup with less than a second remaining in overtime Wednesday night gave UNLV a 75-73 win over Portland.
Doolin, who finished with 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting, had a similar play at the end of regulation but fed Dwayne Morgan for a layup at the buzzer. It was Morgan's only basket before his shot with 25 seconds left in overtime put UNLV up 73-71.
Rashad Vaughn led the Rebels (7-2) with 25 points and Christian Wood added 17.
Alex Wintering had 24 points and Riley Barker 14 for the Pilots (7-3). Volodymyr Gerun had 11 points, including two free throws with 11 seconds left to tie the game at 73.
Portland used a 7-0 run late in the first half for a 29-28 win at the break. The Pilots led all of the second half but Vaughn, who had 17 of his points after intermission, kept the Rebels in it.
