CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — A former central Pennsylvania high school teacher accused of sexual contact with a student has been ordered to spend four years on probation.
Thirty-two-year-old Emily Nesbit of South Middleton Township was sentenced Tuesday in Cumberland County Court.
The former Cumberland Valley High teacher pleaded guilty in September to one count of institutional sexual assault and received probation under an agreement with prosecutors.
Authorities said the 11th-grade teacher engaged in sexual contact with an 18-year-old student. Nesbit apologized in court, saying she was "incredibly remorseful."
