MILLCREEK — A man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly rammed his car into a car driven by his ex-girlfriend while both she and a 1-year-old son were in the vehicle.

Seth Wyatt Eatchel, 24, of Salt Lake City, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Friday for investigation of aggravated assault, felony child abuse and domestic violence in the presence of a child.

Police say Eatchel was driving Thursday night when he happened to see his ex-girlfriend near 1295 E. Miller Ave. Eatchel flashed his headlights in an attempt to get the woman's attention and have her pull over, but she did not, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

Eatchel then chased after the woman and purposely rear-ended her several times, according to a jail report. The woman told police she was hit four times before the final hit caused her car to spin out of control near 1204 E. Crandall Ave. The impact caused Eatchel to also lose control of his vehicle which hit a pole, the report states.

Another man who was in the car with the ex-girlfriend got out and got into a fight with Eatchel, Hoyal said.

Eatchel was able to drive away in his car. Police later found him at a house in West Valley City and arrested him.
