JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Darion Rackley scored 22, Jeremy Watson had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Jacksonville State made its free throws on Sunday to hold off Dartmouth 79-67.
Rackley was 7 of 8 from the foul line in the final two minutes and the Gamecocks (6-4) were 12 of 14 to keep the Big Green (3-5) at bay.
Dartmouth closed within 61-57 on Connor Boehm's layup with 4:27 left, but Jacksonville State scored six straight with D.J. Felder's jumper making it 67-57 with 2:57 left.
Felder finished with 14 points and Jamal Hunter added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Gabas Maldunas had 27 points and 10 rebounds with 11-of-15 shooting from the field to lead the Big Green. Alex Mitola added 13 points and Boehm scored 10.
Jacksonville State had a 13-point halftime lead, but Dartmouth's 11-4 run midway through the second cut it to five.
