OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A security guard at a northern Utah entertainment complex is recovering after accidently shooting himself in the leg Thursday night.

Ogden police Lt. Jake Sube says the 18-year-old guard at The Junction complex in Ogden shot himself around 9 p.m. while inside a parking garage.

The Standard-Examiner reports the bullet entered the guard's leg but did not exit.

Another guard heard the shot and helped the man. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Sube says police are still trying to figure out why the guard had his gun out.

No other injuries were reported.
