IPFW beats Michigan-Dearborn 91-67

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Joe Edwards and Joe Reed both scored 15 points and IPFW beat Michigan-Dearborn 91-67 on Thursday night.

Isaiah McCray scored 13 points, Steve Forbes scored 12, grabbed 10 rebounds and had five assists, and Jure Gunjina scored 10 for the Mastodons (6-3), who were out-rebounded 37-35.

Brandon Cole led Michigan-Dearborn (5-9), an NAIA member, with 18 points, Jamiel Strickland scored 12, Darryl Mobley Jr. 11, and Jason Penn 10.

Michigan-Dearborn led briefly 7-6 on a 3-pointer by Strickland before IPFW used an 11-2 run to pull ahead. Edwards scored 13 points in the half and the Mastodons led 48-35 at halftime.

The Wolverines gained ground by opening the second half with an 8-2 run, but IPFW replied with an 11-2 run and led 60-43 after Gunjina hit a jumper and a 3-pointer. The Mastodons used a 16-2 run to lead 85-62 at 4:18 and continued to pull away.
