RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazil's federal prosecutors office says it's charging 35 people in connection with a massive corruption scheme at the nation's state-run oil company.

Those charged Thursday are former officials from Petrobras and some of the nation's top construction and engineering companies accused of paying bribes for contracts.

They're accused of corruption, money laundering and the formation of a criminal organization.

Brazil's prosecutors office says the amount of money involved could be around $380 million — making it one of Brazil's biggest corruption cases.

Executives charged included those from the companies: OAS, Camargo Correa, UTC, Mendes Jr., Engevix and Galvao Engineering.
