(KSL News) A correctional officer who was allegedly murdered by an inmate was honored today at the State Capitol.

During a ceremony today, Sgt. Stephen Anderson's name was added to the Utah Law Enforcement Memorial, along with others of those who had been killed in the line of duty.

Anderson was shot to death while accompanying inmate Curtis Allgier on a medical appointment. Allgier then escaped but was later caught. He remains in prison awaiting trial.
